How the Flagg-Air® 340HT Shaft Aerator Works

The Flagg-Air® 340HT is a shaft-style septic aerator that sits just below the tank lid, above the liquid level in the aeration chamber. The aerator draws fresh air through a hose barb inlet at the top of the unit. That air travels down through a hollow 304 stainless-steel shaft to a specially designed 4-pronged aspirator tip at the bottom. As the motor spins the shaft, the aspirator injects oxygen-rich micro-bubbles outward into the wastewater while simultaneously stirring the tank contents. This process dissolves and distributes oxygen evenly throughout the tank, fueling aerobic bacteria and accelerating the treatment of wastewater.

You will know your aerator is working when you see and hear bubbling in the tank and do not notice strong sewer odors.

Choosing the Right Model: FA340HT-J vs FA340HT-N

The only difference between the two Flagg-Air® 340HT models is bracket size. To determine which model you need, measure the opening of your aeration tank.

The FA340HT-J is the Jet® septic aerator replacement. It features 12-inch red brackets designed to fit a 10-inch diameter tank opening. It directly replaces all Jet® aerator units including models 660, 665, and 700LL, as well as the Alpha Air AL500-12 and model 735.

The FA340HT-N is the Norweco Singulair® septic aerator replacement. It features 14-inch blue brackets designed to fit a 12-inch diameter tank opening. It directly replaces all Norweco Singulair® aerator units including models 96, 960, 206C, and 780, as well as the Alpha Air AL500-14 and model 735.

The FA340HT-N features a unique 3-in-1 T-Bar handle molded from high-impact plastic that combines an ergonomic lift handle, a fresh air hose barb inlet, and built-in cord storage into a single solid piece. The cord storage eliminates wear on the power cable caused by the motor's vibrations during operation.

The extra-large 6-inch suds restrictor attaches to the shaft and spins with it, deflecting foam away from the motor while simultaneously cooling it. Its wider-than-standard diameter also functions as a splash guard, offering additional motor protection.
